Best Sunset Spots in Noosa (That Are Actually Worth It)

One thing about Noosa is that the sunsets do not mess around.

Honestly, it almost doesn’t matter where you are, walking out of the shops, driving along Noosa Parade, sitting on your balcony - the sky will suddenly turn pink and purple and you’ll just stop and stare like “okay wow”.

But if you want to make it a moment (and not just a happy accident), there are a few spots that we definitely recommend.

So here are our favourite sunset spots in Noosa; tested, loved, and absolutely worth planning your evening around.

Quick Guide: Which Sunset Spot Should You Pick?

Best overall vibe: Noosa Spit

Best views: Laguna Lookout

Easiest option: Noosa River

Best “experience”: Mount Tinbeerwah

1. Noosa Spit (our favourite, no question)

If you only go to one sunset spot in Noosa, make it this one.

It’s a beach sunset, easily accessible (right at the end of Hastings Street) and also just has the best vibe.

You can grab takeaway, head down to the Spit and just sit there whilst the sky does it's thing. If you want to keep it 'Noosa' go for a Betty's Burger or a Chip N Mix - oh and don't forget the Yo Chi!

This is a really popular spot for camper van travellers so you'll usually get the bonus of music from the vans, loads of people hanging out and sometimes even the occasional fire dancing situation.

It’s one of those places where you end up staying way longer than planned.

2. Laguna Lookout (amazing views, slightly more effort)

If you want that panoramic sunset view, this is it.

At the top, you get views over the river, the coastline and and the Noosa Hinterland.

It’s stunning.

The good news is that if you have a car, you can drive up! The slightly less good news is that parking can be chaos. So plan ahead.

It’s also quite small, so get there early if you want a good spot.

This is the perfect spot if you want something a little quieter, more scenic and less “busy beach energy”

3. Noosa River (easy, underrated, and always good)

This is the easiest sunset option, and somehow still one of the best.

Anywhere along the river works, but we love:

Gympie Terrace

  • grab fish & chips or a Pearls

  • sit by the water

  • watch pelicans casually wander past

OR - head to The Boathouse on Gympie Terrace

  • go upstairs

  • order a cocktail

  • pretend you’re fancy

There’s also a really lovely hidden-ish spot along Noosa Parade near Ricky’s: walk behind the bus stop and sit by the river.

It’s peaceful, low-key, and very underrated. And if you're staying at one of the places near Ricky's (like Culgoa Point), you can watch the sunset from your private beach. How good.

4. Mount Tinbeerwah (sunset with a view…and a slight workout)

If you want a sunset that feels a bit more like an event, this is a good one.

Located in Tewantin National Park, you get:

  • panoramic views of the coast

  • views over the Hinterland

  • a proper “wow” moment

You do have to walk a little to get there…

But, it’s not that bad. We managed it and we are not known for our hiking abilities. So take from that what you will.

A lot of people bring picnic blankets, drinks and snacks…and properly settle in.

Final Thoughts

The thing with Noosa sunsets is…you can’t really get it wrong

But if you do plan it properly - grab food, pick your spot, make a bit of an evening of it - it turns into one of those moments you'll really remember from the trip.

And honestly?

That’s what it’s all about.
