Trying to figure out where to stay in Noosa?

We got you.

The first time we went, we had absolutely no idea which area to book - and ended up deep-diving into Google for far longer than necessary.

After living in Noosa for the best part of a year, and staying in a few different spots along the way, we’ve got a pretty good idea of where’s actually worth staying, what each area is like, and what we’d book again.

Whether you want beachside luxury, a chilled river stay, or somewhere social with good vibes - here’s our honest guide to the best places to stay in Noosa.

Best Luxury Stays - Elysium Noosa Resort and Culgoa Point

Best for Backpackers - Halse Lodge and Bounce

Best for families - Noosa Tropicana

Best for freinds - Vibes at Five

Best for Adventure - Habitat Noosa

Noosa Parade (best all-round location)

If you want a bit of everything, Noosa Parade is your best bet.

This street runs between Hastings Street (main hub + beach) and the river (Gympie Terrace). This means you’re close to everything and on the main bus route, without paying peak Hastings Street prices.

Culgoa Point (boujee but worth it)

Culgoa Point is a resort made up of privatley owned apartments (this is really common in Noosa). This means that no two apartments are the same and, yes, some might be a little dated. But honestly? You won't care.

It's situated right on the river, has a private beach where you can have free use of paddleboards and kayaks. If the sea and sand aren't enough, it also has a lovely pool area and a sauna and communal BBQ areas looking out onto the beach.

It's a 25 minute walk (or 5 minute bus) to Hastings Street, 2 minute walk to Ricky's (a must-try restaurant) and the private beach offers one of the best sunset spots in Noosa.

We would 100% stay here again - but you gotta have the $$$!

Noosa Tropicana (more budget-friendly and still cute)

A little further up Noosa Parade in Noosa Tropicana. Like Culgoa, it offers spacious apartments and a lovely pool and BBQ area.

It doesn't back on to the river and is a little further from Hastings Street (still only a few minutes on the bus!) but this time, you're in walking distance to Gympie Terrace.

Top tip: Book a top-floor room with rooftop terrace + hot tub and private BBQ. Game changer.

Other really good options on Noosa Parade

  • Metzo Noosa Resort

  • Verano Resort

Hastings Street (best for location + vibes)

If you want to be in the centre of everything, this is your area.

You’ll have:

  • beach on your doorstep

  • restaurants, bars, shops

  • easy access to the national park walk

Downside? It’s expensive.

But… for a short trip? Worth it.

Elysium Noosa Resort (luxury stay, prime location)

If you’re going for a proper treat - this is the one.

Located in the centre of Hastings Street, the shops, bars, restaurants and the beach are right on your doorstep. It even has onsite dining and two bars.

Perfect for:

  • special occasions

  • “we deserve this” trips

  • pretending you’re more put together than you are

Elysium Riviera Bar

Halse Lodge (budget + social + great location)

This is one of the best hostels in Noosa - and even if you’re not a hostel person, hear us out.

  • dorms + private rooms

  • bar + huge beer garden

  • live music

  • amazing location (literally at the top of Hastings Street!)

Also, the onsite bar is very popular with locals, which is always a good sign.

If you're backpacking or travelling with friends and want to be in the heart of Noosa, this is the place for you.

Other really good options on Hastings Street

  • Netanya

  • The Sebel

Gympie Terrace (best for chill vibes + river views)

If Hastings feels a bit…intense (or expensive), Gympie Terrace is your answer

It’s:

  • quieter

  • more local

  • right on the river

But, it still has loads of restaurants and bars and is a great sunset spot.

And only 7 mins to Hastings by bus!

Vibes at Five (good energy, great location)

This is one of those places that just feels easy.

This self contained home is right near the river, gorgeously decorated and a great base for exploring.

Perfect for chilled mornings and slightly chaotic evenings!

Bounce Noosa (social, fun, and sometimes slightly chaotic)

This is not your average hostel. This is Love Island villa energy.

Honestly? It's hard to believe you're even in a hostel. We've certainly never seen one like it!

  • pool parties

  • DJs

  • run clubs

  • bar + events

  • shuttle buses everywhere

You don’t need to plan anything - it’s all happening there. There are 4 bed dorms and a few private double rooms as well - which are legit nicer than a lot of hotel rooms we've stayed in!

Ngl, the price does reflect the absolute dream of a hostel it is, but you're in Noosa - treat yourself!

📍 Noosa Everglades Area (for something different)

About 30 mins out of Noosa, but worth mentioning.

If you want:

  • nature

  • quiet

  • something a bit different

Habitat Noosa (aka kangaroo sunrise central)

You’ve probably seen it on TikTok. Kangaroos hopping across a lake at sunrise.

Yes - it’s real. And this is where is happened.

We say 'happened' because we don't want to lie to you - it does not happen every day.

And actually, the TikTok resulted in the number of people turning up for sunrise get so out of hand, that you actually can't go now unless you're staying on the site. (But, you can 100% see kangaroos there just before sunset and the site is open to non guests until around 10pm).

Options:

  • camping

  • camper vans

  • glamping

Plus:

  • bar + restaurant

  • proper nature escape vibes

Still Not Sure Where To Stay in Noosa?

Here’s the quick version:

Want beach + action? → Hastings Street

Want balance + value? → Noosa Parade

Want chill + local vibes? → Gympie Terrace

Want something different? → Everglades

Final Thoughts

Honestly - there’s no bad place to stay in Noosa. They're all pretty close together and there's something going on everywhere.

It just depends on:

  • your budget

  • your vibe

  • how close you want to be to margaritas at all times

We’ve stayed in a few different places over the years, and each one gave us a completely different experience.
