Ios, Greece
One of our more successful 'influencer' picture attempts. Ios, Greece.

We guess we should probably start by saying hi.

We’re Christina and Jennifer - sisters, travel buddies, and certified experts in booking trips we probably shouldn’t…and going anyway.

If you’ve ever sat there thinking,"

We can’t really afford this holiday…",

and then somehow ended up at the airport a few weeks later…you’re in exactly the right place.

Welcome to Manta Ray Cove - a travel blog for real people, real budgets, and very real travel mishaps.

What is Manta Ray Cove all about?

Over the past few years, we’ve travelled to some incredible places. From famous bucket list destinations to random spots we found on Google at 1am.

Along the way, we’ve picked up:

  • genuinely useful travel tips

  • budget-friendly ways to make trips happen

  • hidden gems that aren’t all over Instagram

  • and…a concerning number of chaotic, “what are we doing?” moments

So we decided to put everything in one place.

This blog sits somewhere between honest travel reviews, practical travel guides, and stories you’ll hopefully laugh at (even if we weren’t laughing at the time).

We’re not influencers - and that’s kind of the point

Look, we're not going to lie. We’ve tried to be.

We’ve attempted the “effortless” posed photos.

We’ve said “just one more picture” approximately 47 times before every meal.

And every single time, we end up with:

  • blurred photos

  • accidental double chins

  • and our boyfriends slowly losing the will to live while their food goes cold

So no - you won’t find perfectly curated, aesthetic travel content here.

But what you will find is something far more useful.

What you’ll actually get from this blog

If you’re looking for:

  • honest travel recommendations (the good and the bad)

  • budget-friendly travel tips that actually work

  • real itineraries you can follow

  • places that are worth your time (and money)

  • and the occasional chaos-filled travel story

…then you’re going to feel very at home here.

Oh - and fair warning:there will be a lot of cocktail references.

Particularly spicy margaritas. You’ve been warned.

Why this blog exists

We created Manta Ray Cove because most travel blogs didn’t feel like they were written for people like us.

They felt…polished. Expensive. Slightly unrealistic. (And we've fallen for a few of the viral TikTok recommendations, spent a fortune, and realised they actually aren't that good. We're over being 'influenced'. Or as we like to call it, lied to).

It’s not always that helpful when you’re:

  • trying to plan a trip on a normal budget

  • figuring out what’s actually worth doing

  • or just hoping not to waste money on something overrated

So this blog is our way of sharing what travel is actually like; the good bits, the stressful bits, and the moments that end up being the best stories later.

What to expect going forward

On Manta Ray Cove, you’ll find:

  • destination guides (with real advice, not fluff)

  • bucket lists you can actually use

  • travel tips that make your life easier

  • honest reviews of places, tours, and experiences

  • and probably a few questionable decisions along the way

Whether you’re planning your next trip or just having a scroll while pretending to work...we’re very glad you’re here.

So...

We’re not here to be perfect.

We’re here to be helpful, honest, and (hopefully) a bit entertaining.

So if that sounds like your kind of travel content - cheers. And welcome to Manta Ray Cove!
